CANCELLED DUE TO SNOW -- Fall Work Party at Lake Wenatchee YMCA Camp (Oct. 24 & 25) (Preregister)

CANCELLED DUE TO SNOW. WILL BE RESCHEDULED SOON.

2020 Fall Work Party

Join us for Make a Difference Day!  We have scheduled our annual Fall work party for  Saturday October 24 from 8-5pm and again on Sunday October 25 from 8-2pm. Folks are welcome to spend the night in one of our cabins if they like as we will provide free lodging and meals for all those who are in attendance.  We’ll have plenty of coffee and have a warm fire going.  There will be both indoor and outdoor projects and everyone is welcome young and old!

Volunteers should plan to bring warm clothes (that you don’t mind getting dirty), work gloves and good sturdy boots.  If you plan to spend the night in a cabin please call ahead so that we can reserve space for you.  Bring a warm sleeping bag, blankets, pillow, and toiletries.  We will be providing the following meals: Saturday Lunch and Dinner. Sunday Breakfast and Lunch.  All volunteers will be required to sign in and sign a liability waiver and a COVID-19 liability waiver.  Kids are welcome with a responsible adult.

Masks will be required.  Please bring your own masks/face coverings.

Camp work projects will allow us to follow social distancing guidelines.  Accommodations in cabins are limited to those from the same household.  Food will be served “to go” and may be consumed outside or back at your cabin or project/job site.

Some of the projects we have lined up are:

  • Cleaning of the lodge.

  • Cleaning of the cabins.

  • Tending burn piles.

  • Clearing storm debris from the camp trails.

  • Opening/Closing down the waterfront and archery range for the winter season.

  • Building a new woodshed.

  • Cutting, splitting and stacking firewood.

  • Gardening projects.

  • Eating of s’mores.

  • And much more!

We ask that you please RSVP so we can plan on food and accommodations.

If you would like more information or to RSVP contact Tim McElravy, Camp Director at tmcelravy@lwycamp.org or at (509) 763-9622.
